I’m Carolyn Ali, a freelance food and travel writer in Vancouver, Canada. I’ve visited over 40 countries and love nothing more than diving into new cultures. So when I can’t leave home, I search out pockets of the world in Vancouver. And I plot my next escape. This blog shares my discoveries in Vancouver and beyond.
Carolyn Ali was born and raised in Vancouver, Canada, and graduated from Simon Fraser University. She spent several years teaching English in Japan and several more as an editor for the Bangkok Post newspaper in Thailand. In between, she took a year off to travel from Cambodia to Syria. She is now a freelance writer and the travel and food editor for Canada’s largest urban weekly newspaper, the Georgia Straight.
